According to Deadline, both “Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom” and “Shazam: Fury of the Gods” will both be delayed again. Aquaman 2 will now move to December 25, 2023 and Shazam 2 will move to March 17, 2023. It was later reported by The Hollywood reporter that these changes were due to Warner Brothers Discovery not being able to afford putting out more than two movies in the rest of 2022 because of things such as marketing costs. WBD will only be releasing “Black Adam” and “Don’t Worry Darling” in the remaining months of the year. These changes come from CEO David Zaslav as he is trying to save the company money during its transitional period. Seeing the moving of project dates for money could validate the reasons given by WBD for shelving “Batgirl”, being tax write offs. Hopefully WBD will be able to recover this year and properly manage their properties and projects going forward so delays and cancellations are not so often.
