The HBO Max series, “The Penguin”, has just begun filming and cast Clancy Brown in a key role.

The Penguin” follows Oswald Cobblepot (played by Colin Farrell) and his rise to power after the events of “The Batman” in an eight episode series.

As filming has started, Deadline confirmed that Clancy Brown would be portraying iconic Gotham mobster, Salvatore Maroni. Maroni was mentioned multiple times in “The Batman” but never shown. Now the name has a face and they couldn’t have chosen a better actor.

Clancy Brown is a veteran in the comic book community appearing in shows such as “Daredevil”, “The Flash”, and “The Punisher” as well as voicing Lex Luthor on many occasions.

We are more than excited to see what Brown will bring to “The Penguin“.
