“The Flash” loses its momentum in debuting one of the worst episodes of the series to date.
SPOILER AHEAD
Story
In a lackluster series of events, this episode decides to send Barry and Iris away for the majority of the episode and focus on the uninteresting side characters.
This episode sees the return of Becky Sharpe and her life post crisis. Her new husband is seemingly murdered and Allegra and Cecile come to help her solve the case and prove Becky’s innocence.
On the other side of the story, Chester and Mark try to figure out Khione’s powers. Later in the episode they discover that she is neither human nor meta-human.
Finally the episode ends with the gang throwing a baby shower for Barry and Iris.
The Good
Unfortunately there was nothing redeeming about this episode.
The Bad
This is the final season of a series called, “The Flash”. This season should be focused on Barry’s final run and maturity over his time as the Flash. So what in the writers’ right minds made them think that including a filler episode focused on the characters that no one likes was a good idea?
Cecile used to be an interesting and enjoyable character but then her powers stayed after her pregnancy and ruined the whole point of her story. Cecile is not the reason people tune into this show, so it makes no sense why she is constantly written as the protagonist.
Allegra and Chester will never be what Caitlin and Cisco were to Barry so they were bound to fail from the start.
Making Chillblaine a series regular this season was a poor choice because the character has no value.
As mentioned many times before, the whole concept of Khione is dumb and irrelevant. Every time her character comes onscreen and I tune her out because I will never forgive the writer’s for killing Caitlin to introduce her.
While it was a nice nod to the past bringing back Becky at first, I quickly remembered how annoying her voice was and why she was a forgettable character. Every scene she was in gave me a headache and made me want to skip the rest of the episode.
This episode also suffers from cringey dialogue and horrible writing through and through.
Review
This was easily one of the worst episodes of “The Flash” to ever air and could have been skipped for one’s own satisfaction. Episode six is 1/10.
