The Flash Final Season Episode 8 Review

1 minute, 33 seconds Read

The Flash” delivers another worthless filler episode in its final season but at least lets this one focus on Barry and Iris.

SPOILERS AHEAD

Story

A simple mold inspection at S.T.A.R. Labs leads to unexpected time anomalies which leave Barry and a pregnant Iris trapped in the Speed Lab. Chester admits his love to Allegra, which makes things awkward between the two. Khione meets with Caitlin’s mother offscreen. Barry and Iris stop a time traveler and escape their time paradox.

The Good

The only good part to come out of this episode was the use of both Barry and Iris working together as a couple. Their dynamic changed for the better this episode. Iris talking about her pregnancy emotions and cravings while Barry does everything he can to satisfy her was very funny. Seeing them work together to solve their problem rather than being against one another or separated is what we should’ve seen more of in the most recent seasons.

The Bad

As always, Chester and Allegra’s love life is very unnecessary and feels like a waste of time. Why the writers feel the need to continue to put emphasis on this relationship is beyond me.

This episode was yet another filler that is ruining this final season of the series. I’m genuinely curious what made the writers think these past three episodes should be a part of this story. It is evident that these last few episodes had no substantial budget forcing them to work close minded. At this point I would have just made the season even shorter than it already is.

Review

Even though this episode of “The Flash” was a complete waste of time, we are more looking forward to the next episode which will see the return of Green Arrow, Kid Flash, and Bloodwork. Episode eight is 4/10.
