The eighth episode of “Andor” released and slows the pace a little too much but includes some interesting moments.
Cassian is sent to an Imperial prison that looks very similar to “The Raft” from Marvel and becomes a labor worker. One of the best cameos was seeing Andy Serkis on screen in charge of Cassian. The prison scenes of the episode were the best and every time they cut away to another location, there was a want to go back to Andor’s story. The other great scenes involved Denise Gough as Dedra Meero. She has appeared in multiple episodes this season and is one of the best characters. Seeing her do everything she can for the Empire including tracking down Andor is so interesting to the point where you almost want her to find him. Meero crosses paths with Syril as she wants as much information about Andor as she can get and possibly reward Syril.
The story also comes back to Bix, Mothma, Sartha and Luthen which were less captivating moments. Luthen’s story of causing chaos to help the rebellion was very interesting at first but has become dull and repetitive. We do see Luthen have a heated interaction with Saw Gerrera which was great to see him back on screen however the scene wasn’t as impactful as expected to be.
This episode was a little more boring and took time to focus on characters that are less interesting but the moments regarding Cassian and Meero were superb. Episode eight is 6/10.
