A new trailer and two new posters for “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” debuted during Monday night College Football and teases ‘the beginning of a new dynasty’. The new trailer gave a lot more insight into the tone of the film and how the MCU will evolve going forward. While the previous Ant-Man films had a more light hearted and were meant to give comedy in between the more serious films of the MCU, this appears to be the exact opposite. The tone looks to be more epic and serious, setting up the next Avengers film, “The Kang Dynasty”. With Kang the Conqueror as the film’s antagonist, it appears that Scott Lang has made a deal with the devil. Johnathan Majors as Kang looks like an Avengers level threat and makes you question whether or not Scott will make it out of this film alive especially after seeing their fight towards the end of the trailer. We also see two quick glimpses of the iconic villain, MODOK. It appears that the fan theories were true that Corey Stoll will return to play the role of MODOK after his questionable death as Yellowjacket in the first “Ant-Man”. One notable difference about the marketing for the film is the lack of Michael Douglas’ Hank Pym in the trailers. While he is seen in a few scenes, there appears to be no significance to his presence in contrast to the previous films. Could this mean Hank will die in the film? This trailer was easily miles better than its initial teaser and raises anticipation for the film greatly. “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” is set to hit theaters February 17th, 2023.
