On September 9th, 2022, D23 hosted their games panel and revealed a few new games. After watching the panel fans felt unsatisfied as it was extremely short and did not show projects that were that interesting. However one of the exceptions that did raise anticipation for Marvel games was a new project from Skydance New Media. While the project is still untitled, a cinematic was released that sets the story in World War II and teases Hydra to be the main villain. It stars four heroes. Marvel said the following for the description of the heroes, “a young Steve Rogers, aka Captain America; Azzuri, T’Challa’s grandfather and the WWII-era Black Panther; Gabriel Jones, a U.S. soldier and member of the Howling Commandos; and Nanali, leader of the fledgling Wakandan Spy Network. Captain America and Black Panther have teamed up in the comics during WWII before, so it is very exciting to see a new adaptation of this. The project will be helmed by successful video game veteran, Amy Hennig. She is responsible for the “Uncharted” franchise and those games have been highly praised so it raises high hopes for this upcoming game.
