There were rumors circulating that Harrison Ford would be joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe and now they have finally been confirmed by the Hollywood Reporter and Deadline. Following the passing of William Hurt, Ford will be recast as Thaddeus Ross. He is set to debut as Ross in “Captain America: New World Order” and follow up in “Thunderbolts”.
This makes much sense that they decided to recast as you can’t have the Thunderbolts without “Thunderbolt” Ross.
This decision to continue with the character also begs the question if we will see Ford turn into Red Hulk further down the line or in any of the upcoming projects. Fans have been begging to see Red Hulk onscreen for years but after Hurt passed away, they thought those dreams were crushed. However, it may look like good old Han Solo/Indiana Jones will swoop in and save the day for those fan requests.
We look forward to seeing what Harrison Ford will bring to the MCU.
