Over two years ago it was announced that Michael B. Jordan would be involved in a DC/HBO Max project centered around Val Zod/Superman. Whether he would star in it or just produce it, is still unknown. Since all the DC shake ups and drama there has been absolutely no information regarding it since its announcement back in October 2021.
CinemaBlend Interview

Michael B. Jordan played it off quickly giving props to the interviewer for taking the shot.
Entertainment Weekly Interview
At the red carpet premiere for “Creed III”, Jordan was asked about the project again by an interviewer from Entertainment Weekly.
He played coy about the question and simply treated it as if it was another rumor.
Project Possibilities
Now given the recent changes at DC, there are two possibilities of what is happening with this Val Zod project.
The first is that it was canceled after James Gunn and Peter Safran took over DC. It’s possible Jordan and his team did not want to raise any expectations for the project and were instructed not to speak about it anymore as it could’ve been canned by DC’s new Co-CEOS.
The second is that Gunn, Safran, and Jordan are actively working on it and keeping it under wraps. If it is actively being developed, there’s a strong chance it will be an Elseworld and not part of the new DCU.
Michael B. Jordan’s efforts to shut down questions about this Val Zod/Superman project has only led fans and reporters alike to want to ask more questions.
