Shazam! Fury of the Gods Receives New Trailer

1 minute, 39 seconds Read

A new trailer for “Shazam! Fury of the Gods” has debuted as it is ramping up promotion for its March release. This new trailer was an action packed sizzle of all the heroism and chaos to come.

This gave a much better look at Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu playing the Daughters of Atlas and the film’s antagonists, showing off they are not playing around. It even appears as if they have stolen the powers of the Shazam family except for Billy.

Rachel Zegler shows off a little more of her role as Anthea but both trailers feel like they are trying to hold back a lot more about her character from the audience. Djimon Hounsou returns as Shazam/The Wizard but his character looks much more rugged and in poor shape.

Zachary Levi as Billy Batson/Shazam leads the trailer as he is living up to his right as a superhero. It appears he is trying to save his family from the Daughters of Atlas as they might have taken them and stripped them of their powers. Billy looks to have matured much more going into this sequel and is really using the ‘Wisdom of Solomon’.

There is one shot in the trailer that shows Billy talking to a woman and fan speculation is claiming that this is Wonder Woman as the hair and small bit of attire seen look extremely similar.

One impressive thing about the trailer was how great the CGI and overall visuals looked teasing this movie might look better than most recent comic book movies.

While this trailer was certainly action-packed and displayed heart, it felt somewhat generic. It does not look bad in any manner but it does not feel like it will live up to its predecessor which was very well done. Regardless, we will be in theaters on March 17th, 2023 to see “Shazam! Fury of the Gods”.
