Marvel Studios has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming Disney Plus series, “Secret Invasion” and given an official release date.

Poster

The series also received its first poster which really sets the scene for this series.

Nick Fury

This Nick Fury based series focuses on the Skrull infiltration of the world in a dark and espionage story. It is quickly addressed that Nick Fury has been away for awhile and has returned because of how bad things have gotten with the Skrulls on Earth. Samuel L. Jackson looks like he is taking this role more serious than ever and the little bits we’ve seen of his performance shows.

Friendly Skrulls

Ben Mendelsohn also returns as Talos to help Fury on this mission but he is not the only Skrull doing so. It was revealed that Emilia Clarke will be playing “G’iah”, the grown up daughter of Talos. Clarke’s character was last seen in “Captain Marvel” but as a child.

More Side Characters

Maria Hill, Everett Ross, and Rhodey will also all be returning in this series. Kingsley Ben-Adir further shows off his character’s villainous plans by blowing up an area and squaring off with Talos. His character also shows off some interesting powers that could be a reference to comic villain, Super-Skrull.

Tone

This looks to be a dark and edgy show which will be a nice change of pace for Marvel fans as some of their most recent entries have felt too goofy or uninspiring.

This series has the potential to be the best Marvel Disney Plus show considering how amazing the promos have looked. “Secret Invasion” is set to premiere June 21st on Disney Plus.
