The second episode of “Stargirl” aired recently and picks up right at the cliffhanger from the last episode. Courtney and the rest of the JSA discuss Cindy standing over the Gambler’s body and how she might be innocent. The episode follows trying to narrow down suspects including one of the best characters of the series, The Shade. Shade has a more prominent role in this episode as he is trying to change lifestyles similar to the Gambler but after some tension between him and Starman brews, he decides to leave Blue Valley. The rest of the JSA were back seaters for the episode and had no story to tell. Cindy being a suspect was really just glossed over in the opening scene and not explored more until we see her again cooking up some elixir and hacking into the Gambler’s missing computer. One of the best parts of the episode was seeing Starman teach Courtney how to properly use the staff and see what it is really capable of. We can only hope that there are more scenes like this in future episodes. Starman really has some anger issues this episode as he attacks Shade twice which is a result of the torment of past disputes between the two. We finally see the return of Cameron and tease his transition to Icicle Jr. T
The episode was not that interesting but had a few moments that sparked attention. Episode two is 4/10.
