During the DC slate press event, James Gunn and Peter Safran revealed that Matt Reeves is hard at work on the “The Batman” sequel and it is on the way.
Title
They revealed that the title of the upcoming sequel is “The Batman Part II”. Even though not the most sophisticated title, it certainly teases the continuation of Robert Pattinson’s Batman story.
Release Date
On top of revealing the title, we were given the release date for the upcoming film being October 3rd, 2025. While this may feel a little far away, the best thing audiences can do is have patience and give time to director Matt Reeves and his team so they can produce the best film possible and maybe top the first film.
Elseworlds
James Gunn also confirmed that “The Batman” will remain an “Elseworld” and separate from the new DCU continuity currently being developed. This choice will give Matt Reeves creative freedom and the ability to keep a grounded story and Gotham City.
Given the amazing film delivered in “The Batman” fan expectations are high for “The Batman Part II” and we cannot wait to see what is to come on October 3rd, 2025.
