The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed that Jon Bernthal will return to play Frank Castle/The Punisher in Marvel Studios’ upcoming series, “Daredevil: Born Again”.
The Punisher
Bernthal will join Charlie Cox and Vincent D’Onofrio in its 18-episode first season. THR reported this as “Daredevil: Born Again” is set to start filming its first season in New York this month.
Bernthal first appeared as The Punisher in the second season of “Daredevil” on Netflix and the character was so well received that he received a spinoff in “The Punisher”. “The Punisher” ran for two seasons but was later canceled so the rights to the character would return to Marvel Studios.
Karen Page and Foggy Nelson
THR had another piece of info regarding casting for the series saying,
“However, other actors from the Netflix Daredevil series are not expected to return. Deborah Ann Woll and Elden Henson, who played classic supporting characters Karen Page and Foggy Nelson, respectively, are not on the roll call for the Marvel series. It is also unclear whether those characters will be recast or excised from the story.”

Given how amazing these two characters were in “Daredevil”, it would be an absolute shame if neither Woll nor Henson were brought back. If Karen Page nor Foggy Nelson are not in this new iteration of the series, that would undoubtedly be a wrong move as they are essential to the Daredevil character.
Thoughts
While it is so exciting to see The Punisher returning for “Daredevil: Born Again” we are hoping that Karen Page and Foggy Nelson will also make their return regardless of recasting or not.
